Best one-person infrared sauna for a small apartment
For a one-bedroom apartment, start with the Dynamic Saunas Elite 1-Person: a 35.5 by 28 inch cabin on a standard 120V, 15A outlet, with a 5-year warranty from the maker. If floor space matters more than a wooden room, a pop-up tent such as the Durasage folds away and is about 32 by 27.5 inches. Check the amps on any cabin before you order.
Cabin or tent: the choice that sets everything else
Wooden cabin
Stands on its own, and stays put. The two cabins here run 35.5 by 28 and 38.25 by 38.25 inches, and both state a 140°F maximum.
Fold-away tent
Fits a closet, costs far less. The Durasage is 27.5 by 30 inches and a little over 17 pounds, and states no maximum temperature.

Also worth a look
- INFRADELUX 1 Person Far Infrared Sauna, 960W/120V
A 35 x 27 x 61 inch cabin at 960W, a lower draw than the other cabins here. Too few reviews yet to rank.
- Smartmak portable far infrared sauna tent, 1 person
A tent like the Durasage, with a heated foot pad and folding chair. Pick it if the Durasage is out of stock.
Space, the outlet and the return window decide a one-person sauna in a small home, long before the features list does.
Cabin or tent: two ways to fit a sauna in a flat
A cabin is a small wooden room that assembles in place and stays there. The Dynamic and the oversize cabin both do. A tent is fabric over a frame that you sit inside with your head out; you can fold it away after use. Tents are far lighter, and only the cabins state a maximum temperature on their listings.
The outlet question
Every product here plugs into a 120V wall outlet, but the draw differs. Dynamic states 15A. The oversize cabin states 1810W, which is about 15 amps on its own. The Durasage listing gives no wattage. Before you order, find the breaker for the room and see what else it feeds.
What the sellers claim and what we checked
We read each listing and have not tested any of these. Most sauna research people quote studied Finnish-style rooms, as in this 2018 study of sauna use and inflammation, not infrared cabins. If you are pregnant or have a heart condition or implant, ask a doctor first. We review products; we are not clinicians.
Try a one-person sauna before you buy
Many studios rent a private infrared pod by the session. Find a sauna near you with prices checked at each studio’s own site, or read our guide to larger home saunas and what a home sauna costs.
Questions people ask
- Can I run a one-person infrared sauna on a normal outlet?
- Most cabins here state 120V and 15A, which is a standard household outlet. A 15A circuit is shared with whatever else is on it, so the cabin should be the only large load on that breaker while it runs. If you are not sure which breaker feeds the room, ask an electrician.
- How much floor space does a one-person cabin need?
- The two cabins here are 35.5 by 28 inches and 38.25 by 38.25 inches before you add room to open the door. Measure the corner, the doorway you will carry it through, and the ceiling: the Dynamic stands 65 inches, the oversize cabin 76.
- What does 'low EMF' mean on these listings?
- It is the seller's own claim. Dynamic says ultra-low EMF and the oversize cabin says low EMF emissions, and neither listing states a reading we could check. The tent states nothing. We repeat the claim as written and have not measured it.
- Cabin or tent?
- A cabin holds heat better and stands on its own, but it stays put. A tent folds into a closet and costs a fraction as much, but states less about its heaters. If you rent and might move, a tent is the easier call.
