For a household that wants to sit together, or one person who wants room to stretch: the bench lifts out. It still runs on 120V, but its 20 amp plug has one prong turned sideways and only fits a 20 amp outlet. Kitchens and laundry rooms often have one; bedrooms usually don't. The Amazon listing says no special wiring is needed, while the maker's own spec sheet says to consult an electrician, so look at your breaker panel before you order.

How we chose
Two things decide which sauna you can have: the room and the outlet. Every ranked cabin plugs into 120V power, had a working buy button on Amazon when we checked on 27 September 2026, and covers a size the others don’t. Space scores how small a room it fits, power how easily it plugs in, heat the panels for the room size, and value the price against the others here.
If you want a traditional or barrel sauna
A traditional sauna, with an electric stove under a pile of stones, or an outdoor barrel is a different purchase: a 240V circuit, a level base outdoors, and often a weekend of assembly. We looked for one to recommend on Amazon and found none that cleared our bar. Almost Heaven, the best-known maker, lists several models there, and each showed “Currently unavailable” when we checked. The ones in stock had only a handful of reviews, or shared them with unrelated models. Sunlighten and Clearlight, both known for infrared, don’t sell on Amazon at all.
If that is the sauna you want, buy from the maker or a sauna dealer, and put the electrician and the base into our cost calculator before you commit.
Try one first

- Not for the one and two person cabins here, which use a standard 15 amp outlet with two straight slots. The Madrid needs a 20 amp outlet, whose slot has a sideways branch like a T. Every electric traditional and barrel sauna we priced needs a 240V circuit from a licensed electrician, and in New York City that work needs a permit.
- How much space does a home sauna need?
- Measure the floor, then add room for the glass door to swing open. Our picks run from 39 by 36 inches for the Barcelona to 60 by 45 inches for the Madrid, and all stand just over 6 feet tall, so check the ceiling too.
- Infrared or traditional: which should I buy?
- Infrared cabins warm you with heating panels and top out around 135 to 140°F by their makers' specs. A traditional sauna heats the air with a stove and stones, runs hotter, and lets you pour water on the stones for steam. If the studio sauna you love is traditional, try an infrared session before you buy a cabin.
- How hard is assembly?
- The cabins here arrive as panels that clasp together, and Dynamic says its cabins take about an hour. Plan on two people: the Barcelona weighs 250 pounds assembled. Check the listing's delivery terms, because large items often arrive at the curb and you carry the boxes in.
